Silhouette
Brief History
Metallic silhouette is descended from an old Mexican sport, dating back to the early 1900s, where live game animals were staked out at varying distances as targets. By 1948, metal cutouts of the animals were used instead of live animals, and the first metallic silhouette match was held in Mexico City. The sport started for center fire rifles, but it eventually expanded to include pistols and then 22 rim fire and airguns. 22 Silhouette We have 20 round matches that are more informal rather than strictly enforcing the rules of Silhouette. We want everyone to have fun so time limits and other Silhouette rules are only used as guidelines. All range safety rules are strictly enforced however. |
